Question: When I apply for a mortgage should I tell the interviewer about a past credit problem? I'm afraid I won't be able to obtain a mortgage if they know about it.

Answer: Absolutely. Mortgage companies make their living originating mortgages. Most often problems can be corrected or taken care of IF they are known in advance. Surprises are a problem. Always be completely candid and divulge information at the time of application.
